1:00 as well as offering fabulous full moon snowshoe tours. Ice Climbing; Apex now has an artificial climbing tower for all to try; open weekends and holidays. Country Skiing; the Nickel Plate Nordic Centre is just 6 km from
Saddleback Lodge. There you can warm up in the lodge, rent gear, join in
the loppet, and ski the same area Restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and cafeterias; Saddleback Lodge Bistro offers up tasty, home and hand made breakfast, lunch and early dinner, to eat in or take out. The famous Gunbarrel Saloon boasts a big bar with entertainment most weekends, (not including the patrons) a fine dining restaurant and a family style restaurant. They also cater to group functions and teams. The Longshot Pasta Bar is a nice quiet cozy spot to enjoy a glass plate of pasta or made to order pizza; open Thursday to Sunday only. The cafeteria is open for breakfast and lunch. Fresh Tracks coffee shop offers great coffee and quick sandwiches and snacks. Powder Hounds coffee shop also offers excellent coffee and quick snacks. Shopping; the Trading Post is our local liquor agency and convenience food and items. A3 Mountain shop is the source for all your outdoor gear needs; from clothing to equipment and all the accessories. Boots don't fit very well? Visit Ray to get them fitting just right. Transportation and Shuttle; Shuttle service to and from the local Penticton and Kelowna airports is available by booking through your accommodator. Ski Club; the Apex Ski Club has a very active and fun club, the younger kids can start with Nancy Greene Ski League and the Apex Ski Club is for kids 11 years and older. EVENTS; Apex is famous for their great events and training facilities. Come and watch the Olympic Freestyle Teams train for the World Cup Circuit, and watch a Nor Am Moguls, dual moguls and aerials events, being held at Apex this winter. Apex Ski Club and Apex also host alpine events; the BC Cup "Apex Gunbarrel Super G and Downhill" will be held at Apex starting Jan 19.
